Encouraging evidence-based medical practice with clinical decision support
Webinar: Thursday, December 4, 1:00pm

Embedding clinical decision support (CDS) in the EPR System and promoting CDS for revalidation: two ways to encourage evidence-based medical practice.

Providing evidence-based Clinical Decision Support (CDS) resources like UpToDate in the hospital can encourage the practice of evidence-based medicine. Numerous studies show the benefits of using evidence-based CDS, from reductions in length of stay and unnecessary testing to improved patient outcomes.

While many hospitals and Trusts currently utilize CDS systems, there are novel ways to promote their usage to maximize these benefits, from promoting CDS for continuing education and revalidation, to embedding it in the EPR system.  This webinar will include:

  • An EBM expert from UpToDate addressing the importance and benefits of using evidence-based CDS in the hospital
  • A Clinical Librarian from University Hospitals Leicester in a previously recorded presentation sharing how UpToDate can be used for CPD and revalidation
  • An integration expert from UpToDate in a previously recorded presentation discussing the benefits of embedding UpToDate into the Electronic Patient Record systems
