FAQs about UpToDate Anywhere:

Is it really free?

If your organization has subscribed to UpToDate Anywhere, then yes, it is free to register for an account and get access to all the benefits of anytime anywhere access. 

How do I know if my organization is a subscriber?

If you are not sure if your organization has UpToDate Anywhere, please contact our customer service team at 1-800-998-6374.

What if I already established an account with a different organization?

You may already have an UpToDate user name and password through another organization or individual subscription.

  • Log in with your existing UpToDate user name and password from within your current organization’s EHR or portal.
  • This will merge your accounts automatically and you will retain all of your current CME/CE/CPD records.
  • You can manage your account details by clicking My Account in the top right navigation. Update your contact info, change your password, redeem CME and manage your devices from a single location.

I already registered through my current organization’s portal, how do I get access to the mobile app?

How do I change my email address I originally registered with?

  1. Login to your UpToDate account
  2. Click on the My Account tab located in the upper right corner.  If prompted to a login screen, please enter your UpToDate password (user name should automatically appear).
  3. Click on the link provided under Contact Information titled, View/modify my address and contact information. Or, click Contact Information on the left navigation.
  4. Scroll to the bottom of the screen to locate the Email Address fields. Insert your new email address, verify the email address and then scroll back to the top of the screen to click Save.

What if I forget my user name and/or password?

1. Go to www.uptodate.com and click on the Login link at the top right of the screen.  Once in the Login screen, click the ‘Log in Help’ link and follow the on-screen prompts.

2. You’ll receive an email that contains your user name and a link to reset your password.

How do I re-verify my account?

Simply log in to UpToDate from your organization’s network.  You can do this in two ways:

  • Navigate to www.UpToDate.com and click Login on the top right and then enter your user name and password (do this when connected to the hospital network)
  • Access UpToDate via an embedded link within your EHR system or other integrated system (if available)
  • You will be prompted to re-verify your affiliation with your subscribing organization every 90 days. Simply login each time your use UpToDate to accomplish this.  Your name and CME accrual will appear in the top right navigation when you are logged in.

What happens if I don’t re-verify my account with my organization within the 90 days?

To maintain benefits of UpToDate Anywhere including mobile app, remote access and CME tracking, you must re-verify your account.   Simply log in to UpToDate from your organization’s network.  You can do this in two ways:

  • Navigate to www.UpToDate.com and click Login on the top right and then enter your user name and password (do this when connected to the hospital network)
  • Access UpToDate via an embedded link within your EHR system or other integrated system (if available)
